  • 1. Equipment Introduction 

    The Shenyang Guangcheng Technology GCAN-8100 Modbus IO bus coupler can be used to connect Modbus bus systems with distributed bus terminal modules, which can be expanded through modularization. A complete node consists of one bus coupler, 1-32 terminal modules of any quantity, and one terminal block module. The GCAN-8100 Modbus IO bus coupler can connect up to 32 input/output terminal modules through GC-bus expansion technology. The GCAN-8100 Modbus IO bus coupler adopts the standard Modbus bus protocol and is a standard Modbus slave device. The GCAN-IO-8100 bus coupler comes in two different styles: GCAN-8100-TCP supports Modbus TCP communication, and GCAN-8100-RTU supports Modbus RTU communication. In addition, the firmware can be upgraded through the configuration interface to meet customized needs of customers. 

    The GCAN-8100 bus coupler can connect to all bus terminal modules. From the user's perspective, the processing of analog input/output signals is no different from the processing of other types of signals. Information within the controller's process mapping area is displayed in byte array format. Depending on the model, the analog bus terminal module registers include temperature range, gain value, and linearization characteristic curve. The GCAN-8100 bus coupler supports automatic configuration, eliminating the need to set parameters on a PC. When using Modbus RTU communication, communication parameters can be configured through the RS-485 interface; when using Modbus TCP communication, communication parameters can be configured through the Ethernet interface.

    ● The Ethernet port has a fixed working port, and both the target IP and target port can be set; 
    ● Automatically restore connection resources after the Ethernet port is disconnected, and reliably establish TCP connections; 
    ● The Ethernet port is compatible with the SOCKET working mode (TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP, etc.), and the communication software for the host computer is written in accordance with standard SOCKET rules. 
    ● The power supply adopts 24V DC (-15%/+20%); 
    ● The input current is 70mA plus the total GC-bus current, with a maximum of 4500mA; 
    ● Starting current: approximately 2.5 times the continuous current; 
    ● Power supply contact: Max 24V DC/Max 10A; 
    ● Electrical isolation is 1000 Vrms (power contact/bus-coupled power supply voltage);
