  • 1. Equipment Introduction 

    The GCAN-205C module is a national industrial grade module that integrates one standard Ethernet interface and one standard CAN bus interface. It supports bidirectional conversion between Modbus TCP slave protocol and CAN bus protocol. 

    GCAN-205C can bridge the Ethernet network with the CAN bus network. Users can integrate this intelligent protocol conversion module into their own system, enabling the Ethernet network and CAN bus, which do not have mutual communication capabilities, to quickly have communication capabilities. This saves development time, reduces development costs, and quickly seizes market opportunities. 

    The GCAN-205C module has been widely used in building network environments such as fieldbus laboratories, industrial control networks, and intelligent community monitoring. At the same time, the device has the characteristics of small size, plug and play, and the module uses a DIN rail installation method, making it particularly suitable for industrial sites or cabinets to be used in conjunction with other devices. 

    The GCAN-205C module has integrated a CAN interface electrical isolation protection module, which prevents equipment damage caused by transient overcurrent/overvoltage and enhances the reliability of the system in harsh environments. 

    Users can configure the GCAN-205C module through the included "GCan205 EtherCanConfigurav3" software. At present, this configuration software only supports the conversion configuration between Modbus TCP-CAN protocols. For other standard or custom protocols on the Ethernet or CAN side, it does not currently support users to configure them themselves. If necessary, our company can provide configuration services between any protocol for users. 



    2. Performance characteristics 

    (1) Hardware features 

    ● High speed 32-bit industrial grade controller; 

    Embedded hardware watchdog timer; 
    Use an external power supply (24V DC, 75mA) for power supply; 
    Working temperature range: -40 ℃~+85 ℃; 
    Electrostatic discharge immunity level: Contact discharge ± 4KV, air discharge ± 8KV; 
    Electrical fast transient pulse group immunity level: ± 2KV; 
    Surge immunity level: ± 1KV for power interface. ± 4KV for CAN bus interface; 
    Standard DIN rail installation method, specifically designed for industrial use. 

    (2) CAN attribute 


    Integrate 1 CAN bus interface and use terminal wiring method; 
    The CAN bus number includes: CAN_S, CAN_L, CAN_SND; 
    The CAN bus supports CAN2.0A and CAN2.0B frame formats and complies with the ISO/DIS 11898 specification; 
    The baud rate of CAN bus communication is between 5kbps and 1Mbps; 
    The CAN bus interface adopts electrical isolation, and the insulation voltage of the isolation module is 1500V DC;

    RJ45, Support 10/100M adaptive; 
    Modbus slave support function codes: 03H, 04H, 06H, 16H; 
    Support static or dynamic IP acquisition; 
    Automatically restore connection resources after network disconnection and reliably establish TCP connections; 
    Compatible with SOCKET working mode, the communication software of the upper computer follows the standard SOCKET rules.
