  • 1. Equipment Introduction 

    The GCAN-208 series module from Shenyang Guangcheng Technology Co., Ltd. is an industrial grade CAN bus to fiber converter that integrates 1 (or 2) standard fiber optic interfaces (single-mode, multi-mode, SC, ST optional) and 2 (or 1) standard CAN bus interfaces. The GCAN-208 series module can convert CAN bus data into optical signals and transmit them through optical fibers. By using GCAN-208 series modules in pairs, users can easily extend the communication distance of the CAN bus, effectively eliminate long-distance communication interference, and prevent damage to the bus and equipment caused by electromagnetic interference, ground loop interference, lightning strikes, etc. 

    The GCAN-208 series module can transparently and non destructively convert CAN bus data into optical signals, and then transparently and non destructively parse the optical signals into CAN bus data. Guangcheng Technology uses unique bus signal conversion technology to achieve microsecond level conversion time between CAN data and optical signals, ensuring real-time communication. Therefore, GCAN-208 can support any CAN bus communication protocol such as CANopen, SAE J1939, DeviceNet, NMEA2000, etc.

    Embedded hardware watchdog timer; 
    Use external power supply (DC+9~24V ± 20%); 
    Electrostatic discharge immunity level (GB/T17626.2_2018): Level 3; 
    Electrical fast transient burst immunity level (GB/T17626.4_2018): Level 3; 
    Surge immunity level (GB/T17626.2_2018): Level 3; 
    Working temperature range: -40 ℃~+85 ℃; 
    Working humidity range: 5%~95% RH without condensation; 

    (2) CAN attribute 


    Integrate 2 (or 1) CAN bus interfaces and use terminal wiring method; 
    CAN bus signals include: CAN_S, CAN_L, EARTH; 
    The CAN bus comes with a 120 Ω terminal resistor, which can be selected through a dip switch; 
    The CAN bus supports CAN2.0A and CAN2.0B frame formats and complies with the ISO/DIS 11898 specification; 
    The baud rate of CAN bus communication between 5Kbps and 1Mbps can be configured through a dip switch; 
    The CAN bus interface adopts electrical isolation, and the insulation voltage of the isolation module is DC 3000V; 
    Maximum throughput per channel: 8000 fps/s;

    Fiber optic interfaces SC, ST, and FC are optional; 
    Fiber optic transmission modes include single-mode and multi-mode options; 
    The number of optical fibers can be selected as single core or dual core.
