1、 Equipment Introduction
GCAN-207 (CANCOM) is an industrial grade CAN bus and serial bus communication connector (bridge) that integrates one standard CAN bus interface and one standard serial interface (RS-232/RS-485). By using the GCAN-207 module, users can connect devices that originally used the RS-232/RS-485 bus for communication to the CAN bus communication interface without changing the original hardware structure. This enables the connection between RS-232/RS-485 communication devices and the CAN bus network, forming a CAN bus network control node for data processing and data acquisition in CAN bus network fields such as fieldbus laboratories, industrial control, intelligent communities, and automotive electronic networks.
When the GCAN-207 module is working normally, it is in real-time monitoring of the CAN bus and RS-232/RS-485 bus. Once data is detected on one side of the bus, it is immediately parsed and loaded into its respective buffer, and then processed and converted according to the set working mode to be sent to the other side of the bus, achieving data format conversion. The GCAN-207 module is a key tool for industrial bus transformation and interconnection of multiple bus devices. At the same time, this module has the characteristics of small size, plug and play, and is also the best choice for portable system users. The various bus interfaces of the GCAN-207 module are integrated with isolation protection modules to prevent damage to the module caused by transient overvoltage and overcurrent. The use of DIN rail fixation makes it easier to integrate into various control cabinets.
2、 Equipment parameters
● Standard serial port level, RS232 or RS485 bus can be selected through configuration software;
● The RS232 interface adopts a standard 3-wire system, while the RS485 interface adopts a standard 2-wire system;
● The serial port baud rate supports 600bps~115200bps and can be configured through software;
● Provide three data conversion modes: transparent conversion, transparent tape identification conversion, and format conversion;
● Three conversion directions can be configured: bidirectional conversion, CAN only → serial port, and serial only → CAN;
● The CAN bus supports CAN2.0A and CAN2.0B frame formats and complies with the ISO/DIS 11898 specification;
● The baud rate of CAN bus communication can be programmed between 5kbps and 1Mbps;
● The CAN bus interface adopts electrical isolation, and the insulation voltage of the isolation module is DC 1500V;
● Use 9~24V DC power supply;
● Power supply current: 20mA, 24V DC;
● RS485 and CAN interfaces use terminal interfaces, while RS232 uses standard DB9 interfaces;
● Enter the CANCOM-Config-V304 software configuration working mode and all parameters using the RS232 interface;
● Non volatile memory stores configuration parameters and automatically calls the latest parameters after each power on;
● Can be equipped with matching card rail connectors and installed on DIN card rails;
● Working temperature range: -40 ℃~+85 ℃;
