Knowledge of GCAN-202 Ethernet to CAN bus

With the development of economy, the industrial manufacturing industry is increasingly developed. Large mechanical equipment is made of numbers of components, which need corporate with each other to complete some certain actions. During the process of corporation, communication is needed to understand the state of both sides and communicate various information, communication between components is transmitted by the bus as a bridge. It is called CAN bus.
GCAN-202 module is a kind of Ethernet to CAN module, which is a high performance CAN bus communication interface card integrated with 2-way standard CAN interface and 1-way standard Ethernet interface. It can realize data interchange and transmission on two kinds of buses, and can realize remote monitoring or control on CAN bus with using this module, so as to further expand the application scope of CAN bus network. And it can quickly connect computers, PLC and other devices with Ethernet communication capability to CAN bus network, realizing the conversion between Ethernet and CAN bus. The sever is to accept other clients to establish the connection. And the client, the provision with the sever, is to provide local services for the customers, for example, the game clients, APP and so on.
GCAN-202 module is a high-speed 32-bit industrial processor and powered by an external power supply(DC+9~30V). It supports the agreements of Ethernet, ARP, IP, UDP,DHCP, DNS and TCP. CAN bus uses terminals and supports 5Kbps~1Mbps baud rate. Besides, it can support CAN2.0 A and CAN2.0B frame format and Comply with ISO/DIS 11898 standard of Ethernet to CAN bus. It supports three modes of operation: Transmission Control Protocol Sever mode, Transmission Control Protocol Client mode and User Datagram Protocol mode. Transmission Control Protocol  provides reliable transmission of data in an IP environment. User Datagram Protocol , on the other hand, does not provide reliability, flow control, or error recovery for IP. Generally speaking, Transmission Control Protocol corresponds to applications with high reliability requirements, while User Datagram Protocol corresponds to applications with low reliability requirements and low transmission economy.   
Ethernet to CAN bus, for example GCAN-202 module, is mainly applied in the remote monitoring APP for charging piles of pure electric vehicles, building security equipment network monitoring system and Ethernet interface inverter CAN bus control transformation. Otherwise, it is also applied in CAN bus signal long-distance transmission transformation in fire control industry.  The internet access is RJ45, which is a kind of connector for wiring system. The connector consists of plug (connector, crystal head) and socket (module). The plug has 8 grooves and 8 contacts. And the conversion mode is 13-byte format conversion, which is fixed and customized for modification. The conversion direction is two-way which is not configurable and filtering is not supported.Gcan-202 is compatible with Zhou Ligong CANET-100T. The configuration software of the Ethernet to CAN bus GCAN-202 is CANConfig series software. Interface definition are power supply, RJ45 network port (LAN) and CAN with 120 ohm resistance. And the software is network debugging assistant. Secondary development can be conducted based on Transmission Control Protocol or User Datagram Protocol with default supporting secondary development examples.
