  • 1. Function Introduction

    1.1 Function Overview

    GCAN-GT-413 is a programmable bus gateway/converter with IO. This device integrates 2 CAN bus interfaces, 1 Ethernet bus interface, 2 RS485 bus interfaces, and 1 RS232 bus interface. Before actual use, users need to write application programs for this device through OpenPCS software to achieve data conversion between different bus interfaces.

    GCAN-GT-413 module supports multiple standard communication protocols, such as CANopen, SAE J1939, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, etc. Users can directly select the corresponding protocol function blocks to load and use them in actual use. The addition of function blocks makes the programming work of users simpler. Users only need to understand the basic PLC programming instructions and the characteristics and parameters of the corresponding bus protocols to complete the programming work.

    GCAN-GT-413 module supports 12 digital DI inputs and 8 digital DO outputs.

    GCAN-GT-413 can be programmed using OpenPCS software, which supports five standard PLC programming languages specified in the IEC-61131-3 standard, such as SFC (Sequential Function Chart), LD (Ladder Diagram), FBD (Function Block Diagram), ST (Structured Text), and IL (Instruction List). This makes the program highly portable and reusable. Moreover, the software also has multiple debugging functions (such as power-off, single-step, monitoring, etc.), making it more convenient to debug the program.

    2. Equipment Installation

    2.1 Module Dimensions

    The device's external dimensions (length, including terminal blocks) are 111.5mm * (width) 45mm * (height) 99.5mm. The schematic diagram is shown in Figure 2.1.

    2.2 Equipment Fixation

    The installation method of the GCAN-GT-413 module is shown in Figure 2.2. A flat-head screwdriver can be used to assist in installing the module onto the DIN rail.
